The Challenge
Across Africa, healthcare organizations juggle a fragmented supply chain — one vendor builds, another equips, another digitizes, another maintains — and many rural facilities go without power, connectivity, equipment or software altogether. There is rarely a single partner who can build, equip, digitize and operate a facility end to end, to standard, with the compliance and after-sales support that keeps it running.
Ophir's Role
Ophir Health is being built as a healthcare solutions integrator across five divisions — Healthcare Infrastructure; Medical Equipment & Supplies; Digital Health & AI; Healthcare Technology Infrastructure; and Managed & Technical Services — so it can respond to anything from a 50-bed equipment order to a turnkey district health facility, assembling qualified construction, biomedical and engineering partners around each contract. Its model is simple: BUILD. EQUIP. DIGITIZE. OPERATE.

- Healthcare Infrastructure — construction coordination, renovations, modular clinics, laboratories, power/solar, water & HVAC

Outcome
The ambition is a healthcare infrastructure and technology contractor able to pursue everything from a small equipment order to an entire facility — with recurring revenue from installation, maintenance, consumables, spare parts and software. Zambia is the proving ground and Southern Africa the expansion market, with regulatory & compliance capability (ZAMRA device registration, importation and premises) built in from the start.
Ophir Health is a healthcare infrastructure & technology venture in development. Medical devices, diagnostic and laboratory equipment, consumables and medical software are regulated in Zambia; Ophir Health will operate under the applicable ZAMRA licences, product registrations and premises approvals.
